The Mandukya Upanishad, the Karikas (explanatory notes) on it by Gaudapada, and the Bhashya on both by Shankaracharya have always been cherished possession of sadhakas. Undoubtedly, Manduya Upanishad is a repository of the highest principles of Advaita Vedanta. Understandably, because of the nature of its subject matter, it has generated an enormous amount of debate, which at many times seems overwhelming to the sadhaka. In addition, some of the mantras and also parts of the Karikas and Bhashya, seem to give room for ambiguous interpretation. The learned author of this text has managed here to clear all doubts which may result from a reading of the Mandujya Upanishad and has convincingly demonstrated that there is no scope for ambiguity in reading the Upanishad.
